Books update
I am keeping track of all the books I read in 2005 and so far I am up to three completed (you can follow along here).
On tap for this week include:
The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco
The Price of Murder - Bruce Alexander
e - Matt Beaumont
Sellevision - Augusten Burroughs
and whatever else I can get to.
My goal is 250 books by December 31st,
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, when other webloggers fawn over the guy who read 52 books in 52 weeks, I think "Bit whoop! I do that most years." And I'm smug about it. I think highly of myself for being that kind of reader.
That's nothing compared to what you read. I am in awe. I bow down. (I'm not being sarcastic.) I only wish I had the dedication, the reading speed, the attention span, and the time to accomplish this.
Instead, I fritter away my hours on World of Warcraft. :)
(I've played the game for six days, according to the in-game clock. I average fifty pages an hour. I've frittered away 7200 pages on World of Warcraft in the past month and half. That's all of Proust twice over! This makes me sad.)

Have you read Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco? I absolutely loved it, and it's far better than the foolish DaVinci Code book everyone is blathering on about, written long before it, but a similar concept, done better.
