Now before I rant, just know I am generally a fan of motion pictures filming in Oregon. There have been some good ones, and some bad ones filmed here. After today's funtime experiences, this one is quickly moving into the latter category.
They are generally good for the economy but I really hate it when some production assistant tells me I can't go into my office because "this area is restricted to actors only."
Hello? It's a public sidewalk that I am trying to walk on. Just because your cast trailers are parked along the street and almost blocking the door to my offices doesn't mean that you own the sidewalk and all of the buildings around it. If you HAD blocked the street for filming, and paid the resulting fees to the city, I might understand. But an officious PA with a clipboard doesn't fly.
I almost feel like pulling one of those tricks where you stand right outside where they are shooting and rev a leaf blower until they pay you to go away.
